Gearbit announces new releases for its award-winning 10Gbps gearbox protocol analyzer line

Cost effective 1, 10, 20, 40 Gigabit (1Gbps, 10Gbps, 20Gbps, 40Gbps), stream to disk data recorder-packet analyzer and does critical network analysis at the packet level, allowing quicker identification of the root cause. Plowing through the “needle in the hay stack” to speed your analysis in identifying the issue at hand.

AUSTIN, Texas – January 7, 2012 – Gearbit, a comprehensive network tools and service company, today announced the release of high performance network capture of its award-winning gearbox protocol analyzer product line. Gearbox is a cost effective network solution of protocol analyzers equipped with a  intelligent network adapters, can capture, analyze and transmit in real-time at speeds from 1 to 40 Gbps, at zero packet loss. The packet engine can then inspect packets in the network stream, examining it for potential issues, and provides detailed anomaly alarms. The notification anomaly log entry can be maintained for the proper analyst, or forwarded to a central depository sys-log server for event management.

The new protocol analyzer models features intelligent network adapters can capture, analyze, stream to disk, and transmit in real-time at speeds from 1 to 40 Gbps (Gigabit), at zero packet loss no matter the packet size and controller from a Web interface for immediate access.

“Our customers tell us the gearbox protocol analyzer has been a huge help to network analysts needing deep packet inspection for potential issues and predefined anomalies,” said Ray Tompkins, founder of gearbit. “These new protocol analyzer models will provide additional flexibility for networking professionals, allowing them to customize a network analysis solution for their specific technical and financial needs.”

Unique Needs

Not all networks are alike, each having their own unique design, network equipment and applications. Even the way a network is deployed varies, making the protocol analyzing equipment and software crucial for managing the needs and uses of each one. As network advancements continue, including moving most network applications to the cloud, design changes can require more processing to be done either at the client end or within the cloud itself.
